Lonmar Global Risks have been nominated as finalists in the Insurance Post British Insurance Awards Lloyds and London Market Broker Team of the Year competition
The nomination recognises our development of new capabilities and revenue streams across a number of classes driven through recruitment of new and development of existing talent.
In the last 12 months Lonmar have recruited a new UK wholesale “London Market Risks” team of 25 people with expertise spanning property, casualty, financial and motor risks. By finding creative solutions and delivering the highest levels of customer service, this team has built some fantastic new broker relationships and delivered a strong new income stream for our business.
We also launched a new Financial & Specialty team in January 2023 following the recruitment of Giles Smithson from Besso and David Doleman from BRS.
Hugo Merison, Steve Knighton, Russell West and Anna Painter have also recently joined Lonmar to focus on medical malpractice, cyber and other specialist UK programme opportunities. Jav Ansari joined from Besso to focus on contingency offerings for clients in the Middle East.
Developing talent
Our team is at the core of our strategy. We have hired high quality people and supported them to achieve their goals. We believe it is fundamental to attract top talent at all levels and have launched an apprenticeship scheme. In 2022 we also launched a Lonmar Future Leaders program where our existing talent can thrive and gain wide exposure for career development at Lonmar, GRP and Brown & Brown.
The award winner will be announced at The British Insurance Awards event held at the Royal Albert Hall in July
